Welcome to my Tour Stop for Layers… Probably the MOST attention grabbing book of 2014 (Yes I know the year is young but STILL.)
Synopsis (Cover links to Goodreads):
According to Hayley love is a subject of ridicule, a myth created by hopeless romantics.
When Hayley makes a resolution to declare her loose lifestyle era R.I.P, it’s all good in theory…
That is until she meets Daniel Stark, a well-respected, mid-thirties business man who is known for his short temper, lack of steady relationships as well as his strict preserve of his private life.
Opinionated, sharp tongued Hayley accidently steps into his office leaving Daniel resolved to put Hayley in her place and have her in his bed.
Both Hayley and Daniel can’t avoid the immediate instigation of the attraction between them.
In a unanimously agreed upon verdict by Hayley and her two best friends, Ian the gay self-absorb, aspiring model and Natasha the witty, borderline neurotic soul mate, Daniel Stark is to be Hayley’s pure physical attraction, emotions aside era closure.
Will it indeed be a closure, or a beginning to something neither Hayley nor Daniel ever bargained for…
My Rating: 5 Bookworms. I really wanna give it like 1 but only cos I CANNOT wait for book 2. So 5 Bookworms. For Sure!
A few things you will need to know, have with you and be ready for before reading Layers
1. This is the first book in the series. I was not aware of this.
2. This is not a HEA. Yet. I dunno what will happen cos I was left hanging. Like bad.
3. Have a box of tissues ready.
4. Get ready for a looooong seating. You will not be able to put the book down.
Hayley is a lovely girl. She is determined to stand on her own two feet, get the job that she loves, have fun with her friends. Oh and one more thing. No more one night stands. Then she meets Daniel. Who doesn’t do relationships. And only kisses when he means it. Daniel, who is probably the biggest JERK I have ever had the displeasure (or pleasure) of reading.
They have the MOST amazing chemistry. They bicker, they laugh and they screw. And they they bicker some more. Most of the times in exactly that order. And as much of a jerk as Daniel is to all his employees and just about everyone else in the world – he is an absolute sweet heart when it comes to Hayley and his mom. Who would have thunk it huh?
Supporting characters were great fun – of course Hayley has the great best friend / roomy but to top it all off they have a third partner to complete their trio. The stereotypical gay friend. The one that is planning on sleeping his way through the entire northern America. I loved it. They complimented Hayley’s character perfectly. Supporting her, boosting her and even giving her a kick in the but when so deserved.
I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t wanna put it down. I kept reading and reading and reading – and then my heart was broken because now I have to wait like a whole week (SUCKS) for the second book to come out. How is a girl supposed to survive???
Anyway. In Short. Read it.
That’s all I have to say about that.
By teen age, Sigal already lived in three different continents where she had the luck to experience and visit varied places, meet unique people, which only helped fuel her overly developed imagination. Currently, Sigal calls Estonia home where she lives with her husband and three kids.
Not exactly sure where they will end up next…
When she is not hiding in her office, writing, she enjoys music, reading and taking care of her little clan.
With a great believe in “don’t wait for things to happen – make them happen,” she enjoys anything exciting life has to offer.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you liked what you saw…
