EVER AFTER Series Spotlight:
Ever After, #1
Broad shoulders silhouetted in the night. Strong arms anchoring her against a powerful chest. A modern-day knight in shining armor on a stormy mountainside… Who has time for that kind of fantasy? Not Clare Gray, that’s for sure. The plucky single mom is a little too busy to dream about turbulent dark eyes brimming with intensity, and sensual kisses that ignite her soul. But when Boston business mogul Griffin Friese steps out of his black truck on the abandoned mountain road and helps Clare rescue her daughter from a deadly Maine storm, her well-ordered world implodes.
Suddenly, Clare finds herself having fantasies about tender loving and hot passion with the mysterious stranger with the rain-slicked jacket and the angel painted on the roof of his truck. The midnight encounter awakens yearnings in Clare that are far too dangerous to explore, but when she learns that her heroic knight is staying in town for a few days, he becomes a reality she can’t deny. She’s already barely surviving, so how can she risk her heart with a man who threatens everything she believes in?
ON SALE FOR ONLY $0.99 UNTIL 11/23
Fairytale Not Required
Kisses that set her on fire. A tender smile that melts her heart. Promises of forever…. It’s the fairytale that no woman can afford to believe in, especially not Astrid Munroe. Oh, she did once, long ago, but the scars etched on her heart remind her that the only one she can trust is herself. The flamboyant designer with the quick wit and spunky demeanor will never show the world how much she is struggling…until she meets Jason Sarantos, a man whose tormented past enables him to see the secrets she is trying to hide.
The connection between the two damaged souls is instant and electrifying, shredding the defenses Astrid had worked so carefully to erect, and tumbling her into a world of passion and vulnerability she can’t control. Jason has moved to Maine to rebuild his life after the tragic death of his wife and youngest son, and Astrid’s vibrant spirit ignites a searing fire in the single dad that he thought was long dead. Intense, soul-shattering passion explodes between the pair, threatening everything that they hold most dear. Is there a way to stop the fire before it consumes them, or are they fated to a future more beautiful and more heart-wrenching than either thought was possible?

He would never.
Driven to heroism he wants no credit for, ex-military Harlan Shea is a loner with a single goal, a last respite from the life he has chosen to lead: not to die the way his father did. And there is one way, one woman, who can help him break that cycle.
She would never.
Still shadowed by a trauma she cannot forget, Emma Watson is damaged in ways she will never reveal, not to anyone…except the dangerous, intense man who has haunted her dreams for the last two years, a man she has barely spoken to, a man who has come back into her life for forty-eight hours.
The best intentions…
A full moon. A dark sky. A whispered confession. A secret pact between two almost strangers who will part ways in the morning, never to speak again. But when these two combustuous, passionate souls finally come together…nothing will ever be the same again. Is there any way to recover from what they have done, or are they doomed to the very fate they were trying so desperately to escape?
1.How would you describe The Ever After Series to someone who has not read any of your previous work?
I believe we all deserve to have our own Prince Charming, who will sweep into our lives and make our hearts soar. Even us ordinary gals who maybe don’t look so perfect in a bathing suit or who don’t get a chance do our hair before running errands… we deserve our fairytale…and that is where the inspiration for the Ever After series came from.
Most of the books I write are paranormal romances, because I love a good ol’ immortal warrior who has been tormented for a few centuries. There’s nothing like the intensity of passion and emotion that comes to life between two people when their souls are at stake and they have a hundred years of intense emotions building up inside them, desperate to be released.
When I wrote my new Ever After contemporary series, I wanted both: I wanted that intense passion, that emotions that tears apart your soul, and I wanted it to happen to everyday women like you and me, who are struggling with the same things we’re struggling with: a single mom, the scars of divorce, the daily grind that somehow seems to obscure the chance for magic, for passion that ignites the soul, and for a man so intense, so passionate, so committed that the entire world shakes from his kiss.
Ever After is about the fairytale in a life where magic comes from the passion and fire of the soul. It comes from real life, the same life that regular people are facing in their own lives.
Dip your toe in. Indulge your fantasies. Let the magic begin. Welcome to the town of Birch Crossing, where Walk into the Wright & Son general store on a Sunday morning in Birch Crossing, and you’ll be swept up by a close-knit community that believes in that there’s nothing like morning coffee at well-worn tables to keep tabs on everyone in the picturesque Maine town.
2. Which part of researching Prince Charming Can Wait was the most personally interesting to you? Were there any facts or themes that you would have liked to include, but they just didn’t make into the story?
One of the themes of the Ever After series is the blending of non-biological and biological families. So many families today are a mixture, and I wanted to honor that. Prince Charming illuminates the beauty of adoption, and how true family comes from your soul, no matter how you end up coming together. My family is formed from adoption, so this story was very personal and inspiring for me, with lots of real life research that came from my own experiences with it.
3.What are you reading right now? Are there any authors (living or dead) that you would name as influences?
My favourite authors are Lisa Kleypas and Dick Frances. They are so different, and yet both so marvellous. Christine Feehan is also one of my favorites. I have to admit, I’ve never read her vampire series, but I’ve read all her other ones!
4.What was the book that most influenced your life — and why?
I’ve read so many thousands of books in my life that there is no way that I could select one as the most influential. One that is very meaningful, however, is Mine ‘Til Midnight by Lisa Kleypas. I was going through a very difficult time in my life when I stumbled across her book. The story left me breathless, and filled with hope that someday life would be better. Stories that give you the energy to tackle real life are such a blessing.
5.If you had a book club, what would it be reading — and why?
Romances, for sure! All my friends are in book clubs, and they are all reading literary, high-brow fiction. Why don’t any of them understand how powerful a romance could be? I want to change the world and give them all the gift of hope and love and redemption that a romance offers.
6.How personal is your writing?
It is extremely personal! That’s the only way to write a compelling story. For Prince Charming, it was even more personal because of the adoption theme, however, every story is personal because I feel and experience the emotions of the characters. Their trials and tribulations become mine, and my writing reflects the same level of intensity as if I were going through it myself. It takes that level of engagement with my writing to create a story that will reach into the hearts of readers and never let them go. It took me over 30 books before I finally understood that, but it has changed everything about my writing.
7.Who designed the covers?
Pete Davis at www.loszombios.com has done all my covers for the Order of the Blade series, the Alaska Heat series and the Ever After series.
8.What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a psychiatrist because I wanted to help people who were struggling to find peace. I still want to do that, and I try to do it through my writing.
9.Do you ever write naked? 😉
Um… no. I write in warm sweats, a fuzzy hoodie and slippers.
10.Who would play you, in a film of your life?
Hugh Jackman, just because anyway he can be involved is a good thing.
