Review: Date with Death (Welcome to Hell #2.5) by Eve Langlais

Synopsis (Cover links to Goodreads):

His mission was to harvest her soul, but he captured her heart instead.

Marigold has a date with Death, but when she foils his plan to take her soul back to Hell, she invites him to dinner instead.

Mictain, an Aztec god who now collects the dead for Satan, is baffled at his interest in the plump human who can see him. Intrigued–and in lust–he can’t help pursuing her. But things are never simple when gods are involved.

Lucifer, Lord of Hell tries to warn him away and even Marigold’s long lost father decides to butt in. But, despite the opposition, things heat up between them, and Marigold learns, when Death comes calling, it’s best to get naked and invite him into bed—and her heart.

My Review:

Marigold is a witch. Not the broom riding, cackling type with the warts on their nose – nor the fake Hollywood ones. But rather a practicing witch with alarming powers (more and more every day it seems). And now it seems Marigold is about to be a dead witch. Or would have been had she not seen death coming. Literally. No one is more surpised the the Aztec god of death himself Mictain.

Marigold soon finds out never has death been more breathtaking, more sexy, more alluring than when it came in the form of Mictain. She soon convinces him to rather have dinner with her then take her soul to Hades. Passions flare, emotions rise and soon all bets are off. These two characters and the very temping Lucifer himself made this a fantastic read. Marigold and Mic’s relationship goes on such roller coaster ride that I felt like a had been to a theme park after reading it. In turn wild, exotic moments had me caught at the edge of my seat.

I was in love with Mic’s take charge attitude – fighting for his woman even in the face of some of the scariest gods out there. He wanted to protect her and even though he might have failed a few times, he didn’t let that stop him. He would do anything and everything to get her back – he was even willing to start a war for her.

Marigold herself was one spunky mc. She was fiercely independent, didn’t cower to even the meanest of gods and always stood up for herself and what she felt was right. Stubborn, hotblooded and sexy even in her bigger size she is one of my favourite female mc’s in quite some time.

In summary? A hot, spunky, everything goes read.
