Review: Beauty in Pain by Georgia Cates

So I have this really mad reading schedule. One day I will actually manage to find the time to post it up on the blog. In the meantime I will not complain, because really, who should complain about the fact that they are getting MAD good books, for free in exchange for a little old review.

Now the reason behind my 10 second rant is, due to my HECTIC reading schedule I have not really had much chance to get to my actual TBR pile. Well this weekend I finally thought screwy with it all and put down my eReader and picked up a book from my pile. Boy am I glad.

They agreed on three months…but their love knew no boundaries.

Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth make him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that’s why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they’re always the same. No long term relationships. No real names.

It’s his game and his rules. He’s content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he’s ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she’s exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.

Not recommended for younger readers due to sexual content and language

My Review:

Laurelyn is a one of a kind type of girl. Heart broken and jaded by the world she joins her best friend on a summer holiday to Australia. They plan on just having fun and being tourist for 3 months. Until Laurelyn meets Jack. Or Lachlan. Agh who knows  anyway :P. They agree to a 3 month relationship. No strings attached and no real names. After the 3 months they will part ways. The best kind of relationship. Right?

I was told by a friend that I just had to read this book. She started reading it and just couldn’t put it down. It was actually quite funny watching her rush through lunch hour to get as much of it in as possible. Now just imagine her enjoyment when the same thing happened to me. This really was a very hard to put down work of art. I loved it to bits. The characters were fantastic. Mrs McLachlan most probably my favourite character in many a book. Jack pretty much too. His straightforwardness was very refreshing and fun to read.

Jack and Laurelyn had some a sweet story. Their romance pretty much non existent, but still Jack manages to be one of the most romantic fella’s I have read. I mean, what girl wouldn’t love to get their feet rubbed after wearing some wicked heels?

Now, the ending… what is one to say? Uhhhh!!!! Torture. Safe to say, Cliffhanger of the year. But rest easy my lovely’s, Book two Pain in Surrender is already out and already in my very eager hands so pretty soon you will be hearing about that too!

Thanks for dropping by!
